My life along with my daughter's life has been very stressful, trying to find answers to why she now has  seizures. She looks great on paper and the doctor  can not give us answers to why she now lives with seizures. I have started my own web site ( Gardasil Awareness project) to let folks know that this vaccine is not safe...gardasil.tymontpro.com. I also post at the  web site  atmenow.com. I have came accross many of your post and have shared them. Here is my story and what my daughter has to say.     My daughter at the time was 16 yrs old and on Feb 27, 2008 had her first HPV vaccine and the second one April 24, 08. On June 14-08, I heard my dog barking in the living room I went to see what he was barking at and I found my daughter lying on the carpet having a seizure. At the time this was happening I did not know she was having a seizure because she doesn’t have a history of seizure problems. I thought my daughter was dying in my arms of course I dialed 911 and she was taken to the emergency room. We have under gone several tests CAT scan, EEG, MRI, spinal tap, blood work and currently seeing a neurologist. The tests have came back all negative and now she has to take medicine for epilepsy.  The first medicine the ER put her on was phenytoin sodium. Now she is taking Keppra, I had ask her primary doctor if there could be some connection to having taking the HPV vaccine her answer was that there has been no evidence or research to prove that the HPV vaccine can cause seizures. The doctor also said she probably has epilepsy. Wow this has been my daughter’s doctor since she was 5 yrs old. My daughter Sarah Breier is an outgoing teenager who has plans to graduate from high school and go on to a 4 year college. She is active in sports and plays the violin. I would definitely like to know why the medical field will not even consider that the HPV vaccine may have cause the complications. Sarah's Story, I am a very outgoing, bubbly, caring, funny, spontaneous, athletic, unique and silly individual. Some activities that I find enjoyable are hanging out and being with friends, traveling, body boarding, being on the beach, biking, snowboarding, hikes, running, music, and I enjoy some art projects as well. As of now, I am focusing on college and my part time job. Those are very important to me. I am very busy with school and have a list of steps I need to go through in order to earn my degree at CSU Stanislaus. I will be studying Criminal Justice as soon as I finish what is left to complete in my General Ed. I am very excited for the fall semester this year (2011), Criminal Justice has always interested me. After I earn my Bachelor's, my next step on my educational journey is to travel to southern California and enroll in a Law school. I have always loved southern California and am excited to finish up my studies there.   After watching some videos about other girls' stories, I felt my situation was not as severe. Although, I am unique and have suffered my own health issues that have impacted me, maybe not as bad as them, but it still bothers me. In February of 2008, I received my first dose of Gardasil. Then in April of 2008, I got my second dose. After both doses I began to feel different, I had body aches and I just didn't feel healthy. Basically, flu like symptoms. Then in June of 2008, I encountered my first seizures of quite a few after that. This was now my life, but back then I did not think that 3 years later, I would still have these seizures, or as they call it Epilepsy. Before I had encountered that vaccine I was a normal, healthy, athletic, teenage girl who loved life. Now I have to take an Anti-Epileptic medication to control my seizures for the rest of my life. Then there are side effects from the Meds I have to take...even though it is one of the best seizures meds out there and safest, I still have problems with it. I have anger outbursts regularly and get mad for odd reasons or frustrated. This causes animosity in the house. Then I get depressed easily with the common stresses of life, then I have to think about my current health condition and that depresses me. I do not want this issue to interfere with my dreams and goals in life. I have also tried to wean myself off of the medication...however this was unsuccessful. I began to have seizures again along with its symptoms such as dizziness, light headed and fatigue. I will never know if this is a permanent, life long disorder...I do not think I will try weaning myself off again because I am afraid and have to think about who I am affecting if I choose such a selfish path in doing so. I have a job, school and other activities that I like to participate in that would be at stake if I had another seizure. Also, since I will eventually be moving away for school, I cannot take such a risk...I will be alone in it. Unfortunately, I have to find another method of health care as well...and I am not sure if what the state offers will cover a Neurologist...which is very important for me. Basically, this vaccine has affected me in all walks of life...and has caused me all these unnecessary health issues. I try to ignore it and just accept the fact that I have seizures and there is nothing I can do to change it. Dec 1, 2010. The school let me know she had to have her shots up to date in order to attend school. Not ONCE was I given an option to opt out. Not ONCE did I see anything in our local paper about the mandate OR the vote down by the Texas Legislature. At this point, I'm ready to pull her out of public schools. She's had the headaches. She's had the joint pains. The clinic where she had her shot is steadily sending me bills for the office visit. Guess what. I'm not paying. If the government and FDA want to practice shots on people.. then they should practice on themselves. Rick Perry, this is ONE Texan that will NOT vote for you in ANY form.
