She’s Vaccinating Them Per the Doctor’s Request…

doctors-ordersFrom Dayle,

“Do you have any information on RSV? My daughter had her twins at gestational age 33wks on January 26, 2013. They just came home, but she’s vaccinating them per dr request that they can ‘die’ from so many things because they are preemies. They actually already circumsized them only 10dats after birth, so I’m sure the babies best interests aren’t a priority to begin with.”

RSV is respiratory syncytial virus – which is not much of a threat to healthy children and adults, but can be deadly to high-risk babies, such as premies or those with heart or lung defects.
It is impossible to avoid exposure to this virus, which is found everywhere, so to protect them, there is a product called Synagis – which is not exactly a vaccine, but provides the actual antibodies needed to fight an RSV infection.
I’m sure you want your grandchildren to have the best possible chance to survive the challenges of premature birth, so the best thing for you to do is to encourage your daughter to continue to follow the advice of medical professionals that have the experience and training to offer the best treatment options and speak honestly and frankly about the risks and benefits.

Synagis does have side effects and my little one had TWO- b/c the Dr denied it was possible to foam at the mouth and sieze from Synagis- Follow your gut- your loved one can only do the same- my daughter was a 25 weeker- I wasn’t 100% comfortable with the decision and still regret it 5 yrs later. :( Best of luck

So what, exactly is it that you regret? Would it have been better if your little one had been unprotected and succumbed to a RSV infection?

Interesting how somehow magically humans were able to make it before vaccines yet people like you assume that without them one is left for dead. The US is the most heavily vaccinated and antibiotically medicated country and yet we are also one of the sickest. If all these medications were working we would be the healthiest country in the world, would we not?

I regret subjecting her to Synagis. I regret holding my rigid toddler in my arms while she foamed at the mouth- I can fight an infection many ways, and build immune system many ways, I cannot however undo damage done by a drug/vaccine/etc- To give a blanket statement that Synagis is a wonder drug that will protect all babies safely is dangerous and untruthful.
I followed Dr.s ‘orders’ and submitted to the Synagis- and we have a reaction; two of them, why am I suddenly a BAD parent when I say caution! My LO had zero issues with lungs in the NICU- zero- why did I do this to her? Shame on me.

I’m curious – you say the child was a toddler when the seizure occured – when was the Synagis administered? Wasn’t that when she was a newborn?

My 1 1/2 year old granddaughter recently spent a few days in hospital with what the doctors diagnosed as RSV, for which she and all her daycare buddies had been vaccinated. Ironically she got very, very sick immediately after that vaccine (6 months prior) and has not been free of nasal or chest mucous since.

As her Mom has now learned hospitalization could have been avoided (at the first sign of a cold, cough etc.) by keeping a vaporizer going 24/7 (indoor heating dries out the mucous membrane barrier making it easy for viruses to stick around), generously rubbing Vicks (or baby vicks, eucalyptus oil etc) on her chest, back and/or bottom of the feet throughout the day with plenty of fluids, rest, high doses of Vit C (http://www.vaccinationcouncil.org/2011/12/20/special-report-the-vitamin-c-treatment-of-whooping-cough-suzanne-humphries-md/) and epsom salt baths.

Baby Advil is wonderful for keeping them comfortable from the aches and pains of illness and helping them rest but not cough suppressants as this is the body’s way of expelling mucous. If the mucous is kept thin and flowing coughing will dislodge it from the lungs without needing medical intervention, what we used to call a “productive cough”. If it thickens it can progress to pnuemonia.

As a grandmother of 5 precious children, knowing what I know now, I’d have never allowed my (now adult) children to get vaccines, there’s no way in hell I, my dogs or cat will ever receive them. Articles like this one http://www.whale.to/v/vitamin_a.html, which talk about Vit A for RSV (and measles etc) confirm that whole, fresh, unprocessed foods (and vitamin supplements when needed) are the best medicine. You don’t have to be a doctor to have wisdom and common sense, I learned to trust my instincts above anyone else.

I’m grateful to sites like this that share facts not propaganda, pro-vacciners have the right to receive them and I have the right to decline.

Yeah, they had a life expectancy of what, 35 years old? I love how people deny medicine–the very same stuff that has doubled life expectancy over the last 200 years. Of course as babies born earlier are able to survive outside the womb, and people die much later in life, we’re going to have more occurrences of diseases/reactions/etc.

I was querying the vaccines my child was supposed to have before the 80s when I was just a teen. She had them spaced out and somewhat later than the schedule.

There is something I want to say because it is a memory from when I was very young and I believe my brother and I had the small pox vaccine. My father and GP were having a discussion and the GP said that my brother could have a very special vaccine because he was very bright, unlike most other children. (He was bright.) At the time I remember I went cold and I thought the GP was a very bad man not to give all of the children a special vaccine. I do not know which one I had,.
