Vaccines are Not Just for Kids Anymore

Who says vaccinations are only for children? Doctors recommend a variety for adults, too! The Pennsylvania Department of Health has launched a new campaign to save lives.

Roberto Morales tells his friends and family to keep up to date on their vaccines, and with a chicken pox vaccine Wednesday morning, he practices what he preaches. “Now I’m completely up to date, I have all my vaccines, I feel good,” said Morales after the shot.

Morales makes sure he’s up to date because of college and being in the army reserves, but the rest of us typically think vaccines are only for kids.

“We have a lot of children come in and parents will say, we’ll ask them if they had a TB booster recently, and they’re like, ‘Really? I need one of those?'” said Debbie Stoops, the Vaccine Nurse Coordinator for the York City Bureau of Health.
