Most of the swine flu vaccines the Czech Republic has bought for 220 million crowns will probably be destroyed, only a minor part will be preserved as strategic reserve, Health Minister Dana Juraskova told CTK Friday.
The state ordered a supply of one million vaccines, but only less than one percent of the population, 66,000 people, have used the vaccination opportunity.
The ministry wants to submit a report on the vaccination, including the project’s final costs, by June 21.
The Czech Republic has been left with over 600,000 unused vaccines, as in February it agreed with the producer that it would not take the remaining 300,000 vaccines without facing a fine.
